Ann Grand is a Lecturer in Science Communication at The University of Western Australia.
She gained her PhD from the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK in 2012, investigating how the practice of open science can be a route for public engagement with research. Since then, her research has focussed on how researchers can make use of digital media and tools for planning, enacting and evaluating public engagement with research, including evaluating its social, economic and environmental impact.
As a practitioner, she is also interested in enacting and evaluating public engagement in informal and generic locations and is the webhost for the international science café network.
