Tom Schnepple is an experienced R&D professional, responsible for commercialising UWA’s engineering and physical science IP through licensing opportunities, start-up’s and joint ventures. Tom also taught the unit “New Product Development and Commercialisation” from 2009‐2012 at the UWA Business School.
He has a BE (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from Curtin University and an MBA (majoring in technology commercialisation) from UWA. Tom worked for many years at Orbital Engine Company developing engine control hardware and software solutions for Orbital’s patented direct injection technology that has gone into production on outboard engines, jet skis and motor scooters in the USA, Europe, Japan and Taiwan.
Prior to joining UWA in 2009 Tom also worked on a videodermoscope that analyses skin lesions for cancer using artificial intelligence and on a novel in-situ pipe rehabilitation technology using composite materials.
