Simon Handford

Simon Handford joined The University of Western Australia in March 2002 and is responsible for commercialising UWA’s life sciences intellectual property through licensing opportunities, start-ups and joint ventures.

He has a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Plymouth and research and project management experience from many years in industry.

As an Experimental Officer in ICI and Zeneca Agrochemicals Simon spent several years researching microbial natural product production and the development and validation of methods for high throughput screening for agrochemical activity.

Simon has also worked for Faulding Healthcare in Adelaide, project managing the introduction of new healthcare and pharmaceutical products to be contract manufactured, and Quintiles in Scotland where he was responsible for project managing patient recruitment into clinical trials, technical support of web-based clinical trials and customer liaison and business development.
