Lucia has worked in the Public and State library sectors, prior to her appointment at UWA, predominately in the development of community literacy programs and events which aimed to connect client groups to the rich content libraries offer. With a growing professional interest in the role librarians can play in supporting information literacy, in particular through embedding into curriculum, she completed further Post Graduate studies in Education and sought employment in Education based institutions.
Lucia currently works as a Librarian within the Science Library with specific responsibility to support the information resource and research needs and teaching and learning needs of staff and students within the Faculty of Science; predominately on behalf of the Schools of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Earth and Environment. This includes collections development and promotion, information literacy support and training and research impact measurement.
