Christine has worked as a research microbiologist with UWA for more than 20 years. Her primary research interests focus on bacteria and antimicrobial agents, ranging from the antimicrobial activity of natural products to improved diagnostic tests for antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
She is infinitely curious about bacteria and other microorganisms, particularly the manner in which they cause disease and the strategies that can be used to detect and treat infections. Her latest work is assisting in the development of a rapid testing method that helps patients receive the right antibiotic faster than ever before.
