What is the history of emotions? What are emotions? How have they changed through the ages? How does an understanding of historical emotions influence contemporary society?
Join us for a taste of history of emotions scholarship ranging from the medieval period to contemporary Australia. Six researchers from the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions (Europe, 1100–1800) will provide an overview of their research. The topics covered will range from heresy trials, passion plays and colour in Shakespeare, infanticide, to emotions in colonial encounters.
