Event description

You’re invited to participate in an interactive day of workshops at the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. As part of UWA Research Week, we’re excited to explore how our world-class research can be an inspiration for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in primary schools.

In addition to learning about some of our cutting-edge research, you will participate in fun, relevant STEM-based activities (at primary school level) that you can take back and implement in the classroom. It will also be a fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded educators from across WA.

Activity stations will explore the following topics:

  • Ocean Floor Offshore Engineering – Modelling our Future
  • Structures Big and Small – Civil & Chemical Engineering Challenges
  • Big Data Possibilities – Cosmos to Oceans
  • Technology Tools – Biomedical Engineering and Robotics
  • Modern Physics – Switching Kids onto Einsteinian Physics at an Early Age
  • Electric Motors- Renewable Energy Vehicles
  • Programming and Automation for the Future – Coding in the Classroom
