Anika Mittal is a final year medical student at the University of Western Australia (UWA). She previously completed Bachelor of Medical Science at the Flinders University in South Australia. Anika has an interest in Oncology and has been conducting research on investigating the role of P53 and INK4A/ARF gene loci in the tumorigenesis of liver progenitor stem cells to hepatocellular carcinoma at the Liver Disease and Carcinogenesis Laboratory at Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Her previous research experience includes working on a project to determine the effect of the drug minocycline in reducing proteoglycan levels in the brain to improve recovery in rats with stroke at Flinders University.
