Dr Danny Rock

Danny is an epidemiologist, holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and an adjunct Professor in the School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, The University of Western Australia.

He is involved with the development of the WAPHA Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Plan and has an established track record in ICT strategic development at the state and national level, including as a technical advisor to the WA Mental Health Commission during the development of the Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services Plan 2015-2025: Better Choices. Better Lives, a member of the Psychiatric Disability Support, Rehabilitation and Recovery, Expert Working Group during the development of the National Mental Health Planning Framework and a member of the WA Health ICT Strategic Framework Clinical Reference Group reporting to the Director General. Other related work including the development and supervision of a major governance review of Psolis, the WA Health mental health on line clinical information system.

Prior to his current appointment, he held several senior health service executive and clinical research positions most recently as Deputy Executive Director, North Metropolitan Health Service Mental Health (2011-16), the Director of the NMHS MH Clinical Research Centre (2008-16), and a Clinical Professor in the School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences and the School of Population Health, UWA (2009-16). From 2003-8 he was the Co-Director of the WA Centre for Clinical Research in Neuropsychiatry based at Graylands Hospital.
